The Sunlight captured by the solar panels is transformed into Direct Current (DC), and then transformed into Alternating Current (AC) by the inverters.
The converted current then passes through safety disconnects, which allow maintenance personnel from the utility company to interrupt the generation of electricity in order to safely work on the grid whenever necessary.
Once the PV Solar System is connected to the main panel, the electricity generated can be used in your home, just as if it came from the utility service electric grid, but without the costly electric bill from the utility company.
If you consume more energy than what you generate, the utility company will provide you with the additional energy you need.
However, if you generate more energy than what you consume, your electric meter will spin backwards and you gain credit with the utility company because you are returning energy to the grid.
